Very nice cozy boutique hotel at the higher spot of the viewport of the town , comprehensive with infinitive pool sauna, steam and jacuzzi. Better spend ur lady morning enjoying the sunrise, sunbathing and yoga( next door) before checking out . Staffs are friendly and facilities are well maintained . Worth the price .

Have mixed feeling about this hotel.
It is without doubt a lovely hotel and there is an amazing view down the valley from the bedrooms. The rooms (although small for the price) are modern and clean. Our bathroom was a full 'wet room' (which we love) though because it was small, everything became wet when using the shower, so it wasn't easy to leave toiletries bags next to the sink/shower. (Our kids room was a different design and had a shower screen).
I was taken back by the actual cost to stay here (which I did mention with the manager as feedback) Making the booking from Australia, I made an assumption I was paying in Australian dollars and there is never any indication to price would not be in Australian dollars. I therefore was a very upset to pay at the hotel and be charged in USD, which due to the exchange rate, literally added a couple of hundred 'Australian dollars' to my credit card which wasn't expected. I was paying for 2 x rooms for 2 x nights, so just be aware this property will charge in USD and there is nothing in their T&C or payment page which state this! (I was really not happy) and went through the payment process with the manager to demonstrate there is nothing to indicate USD!
The hotel is modern and quirky, where you enter at ground level which is reception, go up one floor for the restaurant and down 4/5 levels to the bedrooms and Pool. Here lies another issue, to order food/drinks from the restaurant when at the pool, you have to jump into the elevator and visit the restaurant on the roof and they will bring drinks and food down to the pool. (not always the best experience in your wet swimmers). There was a phone at the pool which didn't work and we were never instructed to use the phone (or WhatsApp) to order food etc, so it was a continual trek up 5 floors to the roof! This task for the price you pay for the hotel is a poor experience, in my opinion. It would be so easy to use WhatsApp or similar.
There are ONLY 4 x sun beds around the pool, which is really poor considering the number of guests that might be staying there. (we were a family of four).
The hotel is situated on top of a very steep hill, which we walked up and down many times. Once you get to the bottom of the hill, you are in a great position in the town and very close to some really good places to eat, do yoga, party into the evening, which sums up our stay in Ella.
Probably wouldn't stay here again (mainly due to the USD charges) as I believe pricing should be clear and upfront and I definitely should not be unpleasantly surprised when it comes to paying a bill.

We had a wonderful stay at Hide Ella. The property is built to enhance and appreciate the beautiful views all around the hotel. The views are amazing from the room, roof top, restaurants and anywhere you go within the hotel. The food was amazing we had dinner and breakfast. Special thanks to Vino, Shaan and Waruna. Lovely staff and looked after us during meals. Also special thanks to Janak and Ramesh. They have been very helpful. It’s only a short walk to the town and you get everything you need. We also booked a tuk tuk ride from the hotel to Nine Arch bridge which is a must see. The road going up to the hotel is incredibly steep, we felt we had a work out after our evening snacks going back to the hotel. We didn’t find the rooms to be comfortable, the beds were average and the room size quite small. This hotel is all about the views, staff and the food. The breakfast was served outside where you could appreciate the fresh air and the beautiful views, this was definitely the highlight for me.

On arrival we checked in, room wasn’t very clean hairs in the bathroom and bed. We spoke to reception they rectified it. The noise of people playing ping pong fairly late at night, the doors are very thin and you can hear pretty much everything. The walls in the bedroom were very marked- in need of a repaint. The shower plug was very dirty which meant the water wasn’t draining well and leaked on to the bathroom floor. |The breakfast was average- again with the breakfast being outside our room an early wake up was on the cards. |Overall disappointment and underwhelmed as this was the hotel we were looking forward to the most. |Views from the bedroom were incredible! |And they also did us a sandwich when we had a really early check out which was very much appreciated.
