Hide Ella is built into a 60-degree slope in the Ella Gap. Rather than flatten the hillside, the building steps down with it, level by level, so the restaurant, the bar and most of our rooms open out through walls of glass onto sweeping views of Ella Gap. The remaining rooms look into a canopy of trees, full of birds at first light.
Many of our rooms open onto private balconies, and five have a private outdoor hot tub, including the family rooms, where you can soak with the valley spread out below you. Below, hidden in the woodland, our pool, sauna, steam room and hot jacuzzi are wrapped in trees: a secluded place to unwind after a day on the trails. It’s a small hotel, just 16 rooms on an acre of natural hillside on Waterfall Road, with Ella town a short walk down the hill, and Nine Arches Bridge, Little Adam’s Peak and Ella Rock all close by.

Relaxing Pleasure
Mornings at Hide Ella start with mist lifting off Ella Gap and birdsong from the trees around us. Our acre of natural hillside has been left as wild as possible, so the forest comes right up to the rooms, the pool and the paths between them.
When you’re ready to explore, the hills are on your doorstep. Walk down to Ella town for its cafés and railway station, hike Little Adam’s Peak or Ella Rock, or watch the train cross Nine Arches Bridge. Then come back up the hill to a hot tub, a sauna or dinner overlooking the valley.

The restaurant meals are excellent, and the service provided by Waruna was perfect, accompanied by an incredible view.
